I had the pleasure of working with the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art on a live brief in the ‘Burrow’ at WSU. The brief was to elevate public visibility through intelligent and cost-effective design interventions.
The concept I pitched to the client was to create an augmented reality geo-locational ‘Art Map’ that would transform Haymarket into an interactive art experience. Using the gallery’s online database of digital artworks placed in real-world locations encourages public exploration. To increase involvement I suggested incentives that would connect individuals to exclusive 4A events such as art workshops, educational talks, opening Nights and so many more. The Art Map would be accessible via QR codes placed around the surrounding areas, this initiative would enhance the gallery's overall foot traffic, It’s a dynamic, exciting and cost-effective way to bring art directly to the community.
I've developed a range of informative campaign assets each design centred around the use of QR codes to encourage people passing by to learn more. Each design is supplemented with a mixture of map outlines of Haymarket, visual cues and strong impactful calls to action to entice audiences to take part in the initiative. My designs help promote community engagement and widen the gallery's visibility, while still staying true to the brand identity.
