Ravella is a hypothetical two-part event pitch that would have been held at the ‘Tank’ in the NSW Art Gallery. The event was meant to encourage females and non-binary individuals to be a part of a largely male-dominated music industry of DJ-ing house/techno music genres, empowering individuals to flip those narratives.
Part One: A daytime ‘101 DJ Decks Workshop’ held & sponsored by The Future Female Academy, welcoming participants to learn the basics of DJ-ing techniques in a non-judgmental and fun environment.
Part two: A night-time music event, would be open to all individuals to enjoy local and international female and non-binary artists. The money raised from ticket sales would go towards scholarships and free workshops for aspiring artists at the Future Female Academy.
When developing the branding assets I wanted to create impactful designs to help promote the event. Using inspiration from the location’s dark hidden setting, vintage 90s rave posters and album covers from Radiohead & Blink-182. I was able to design mixed media social media posts and poster designs that aesthetically reflected the event’s themes & ascetics of grungy moody underground rave culture.
